OMG how Windy was it

It was so windy here yesterday ,we had a tree in front of our place fall down across the road, glad it wasnt on our fence,or on a car passing by.

These trees by the road are sitting in so much water and they are falling over ,we had a few in our street fall over the road.

Hubby is clearing the road before any cars come along and the other people along the street did the same,we also had our power off for about 5 hours ,i was so glad when that came back on as it was staring to get dark in the house, funny how we take things for granted.

I have been having a huge cleanout in my sewing room ,its not far off finishing now, cant believe how much stuff i have thrown out and the room is still full, lol.
I had to go back into town to the reject shop to grab some more of these lovely baskets,i grabbed the last our store had, they are a great buy for $6 and are a great size for storing patterns in.
I also bought some lovely gingham folders to match the room ,they were $9.99 from office works.

Life only comes around once.
So do what makes you happy and be around people who make you smile.
cheers shez xx

  2. Luckily for us here in Eaglemont, the wind wasn't too high! However, on Friday, it affected my flight home from Queensland. Love your black and white storage boxes, Shez.

  3. Glad the tree didn't cause more damage. Have fun with your sorting and organizing and decluttering. I finished Round One a couple of months ago, and am preparing for Round 2!

  6. That must have been some wind! We've been having some rotten weather lately too but thankfully our power has stayed on. Amazing how much stuff we accumulate isn't it? Your new storage baskets are lovely!

  7. LOve your black and white theme in your sewing room. Oh dear! You did lose a lot of trees. Good to know people are so good like your hubby. A lady was killed yesterday when a tree fell on her house. Beware of gum trees when the weather is still...limbs tend to fall then. Glad you have power back. Many lost it for over 24 hours. I lost internet connection for a few hours yesterday. ( Just found out today that my grandbaby is a boy! )

  8. Glad no one was hurt by the felled trees! We're getting the dregs of the hurricane this morning. Lots and lots of rain, but only a little wind. Your sewing room is going to look sew good when you are finished. Black was a good choice. It will blend with everything colorful! XO

  9. We suffered a felled tree earlier this summer...I think much larger than yours. It has been hard to clean up and even though the trunk was sliced up ready to be split, there they lay waiting for someone much younger than we are to take them away. It's been a huge job. I'm glad yours didn't hit any buildings. Winds are always so worrisome as older trees seem to give way to their force.

  10. So glad no one was hurt. The only thing good about the lights being out is hand stitching by candle light. I know what you mean when you clean out your sewing room and there is tons of stuff you love and need to find a place for it.
Hope you are having a great week my dear.
    Hugs

  14. That wind was amazing and so widespread. We still have people up in the hills from us who are still without power. We had no damage here but only because a lot of tree trimming was done earlier in the year.
Can't believe all the water you have lying around.
Congratulations on your big effort with the room clean out. It is a good way to discover a lot of things you have forgotten.

  16. That wind was frightening wasn't it! I heard a tree go over a few nights ago, a snap then whump when it hit the ground. Was two houses away, no damage thank goodness. Well done on the room clean out, it is frightening how much we gather!! But then we do find goodies we have forgotten to!!
