Doiley Needlecase

I bought this beautiful doiley at a lovely antique shop in a town near us and i decided to make a needlecase with it,so i selected some fabrics that i thought went with it.

I really wasnt quite sure what i was doing as it was just evolving as i was going along, lol.

So i stitched the doiley onto a pretty striped fabric.

Then i backed it with some orange fabric.

Then i put a circle of felt inside it,so that needles and pins cant stick into it.

Then i folded it and it was a bit too big folded into a half circle so then i folded it again and i think it looks good in a little triangle.

Then i popped a retro orange button onto it and now its all finished ready for the pressie box.

Hope your day is a good one.
Cheers Shez xx

Lest we forget

  10. So pretty & what a lovely find. I used to collect old linens like this, but then got too many so had to start giving away my stash. I love that you've made this pretty piece into something useful as well as decorative, and the orange is a nice hot & happy color that will cheer you each time you use the needle case. TFS
