Lots Happening

First off my sister hasnt been coping well since our mum passed away earlier this year (she nursed mum for 12mths so she was very close to mum) she felt a need to do the The Camino Frances.
It is the most well known and travelled pilgrimage route to Santiago. It starts officially in the in the Basque region at the foothills of Pyrenees ...
She did it a few years ago and only did a third of it ,so she has taken 5 weeks off to walk the 800km spiritual journey this time and as of last night she is in Pamplona Spain,we are keeping in contact on FB messenger and we can see her pics and follow her trail on Polarsteps, which is amazing.

My sister's first stop in France she walked around to the Citadel and went to the bishops gaol museum and lit a candle for mum in the old church the candle that my sister lit for mum is the tallest one in the middle lot back row.

Then my youngest daughter is travelling to Myanmar in Asia with her church group to do mission work over there with the children,it is a country full of  civil unrest so we pray that she will come back home safe and sound to us and her young family, again its something that she feels the need to do,to help these children ,she leaves with her group next week for 2 weeks.

i have been making some xmas decorations.

Its a lovely pattern by Marg Low called Christmas Magic.

This is 3 i have made now.

I havent been doing much as i am suffering big time with my back at the moment, its been 2 weeks now it was improving and then i moved the wrong way and it has gone on me again, I had a ruptured disc in this area about 14 years ago,so if no improvement this week i will go and see someone.

I spotted these beautiful Rosella's in our back yard the other day they were dotted everywhere over the lawn and looked so pretty with their vibrant blue and red feathers.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.
Cheers Shez xx

  1. I pray your sister and your daughter have lovely journeys as they each travel their path, meeting and helping people along the way. Your Christmas decorations are so pretty. How lovely they will look at Christmas time hanging in your home filled with cheer. The design is so sweet. I do hope your back begins to be less painful this week, Shez. Do take care, lovely lady.♥

  2. So much here in this post, Shez! First off, I'm sorry that your back is hurting. I hope you get to feeling better soon. The bits about your sister's prayer pilgrimage and your daughter's mission trip are interesting. It's so good to be able to keep in touch with people "back home" when overseas. Your embroidered reindeer ornaments are cute as can be. And those birds! How beautiful! And in your back yard! Lucky you. :) I hope you have a good week, friend.

  3. How wonderful that your sister is doing the camino trail Shez ... my friend walked it last year & said it was great but alot of hard work. Your Christmas decorations are beautiful .. I always love all your work Shez. I hope your back comes right, there is nothing worse. When I did my disc in I found sitting upright in a dining room chair much better for it than a low squashy lounge chair.

  11. Can relate to your sister, I cared for dad for several years until just before he turned 103. Grieving takes it's toll on one.

  13. How wonderful your sister is doing the Camino; we watched the series of a group from the UK which was on TV recently. What an amazing and holy walk to undertake. Best wishes to your very brave daughter, as Myanmar is a troubled country these days. I have only ever seen one of those red and blue rosellas in reality, years ago in the bush south of Brisbane. They are so beautiful. And ouch, re your back, hope it settles soon. x

  21. I hope your sister finds peace on this journey. My SIL had a VERY difficult time when my FIL passed. She was the care giver and gave his meds under Hospice supervision. She couldn't deal with that aspect of it at the end.

I pray all will go well for your daughter and she will safely return. Keep the faith.

Back pain is so debilitating. Hope you feel better soon.
    xx, Carol

  22. Shez so much going on in your family... I hope your sister & daughter find the solace, satisfaction & healing that they seek... and that they return home safely.
As for your back, having had a ruptured disc myself in the past, I can identify with your pain... I wish you a speedy return to comfort & full mobility. That's a nasty business & you're wise to seek help if it persists.
    Thinking of you xx
