Throo the Gate

On Sunday Lyn and i went off to have a look around the township of Smythesdale, lots of quirky shops about.

Lyn and i enjoyed some scones with jam and cream at the cafe Throo the Gate.

Then we had a look around at Ruth's antique shop and i bought this beautiful doiley which i hope to make into a needlecase.

I also managed to find a lovely hinged tin that i will make into a sewing box, this one is a great size,Lyn also managed to pick one up,the hinged tins are so hard to find now.

These are the fabrics that i purchased for $15 a mt and i cant remember how much the green homespun was,i bought these in Maldon at The Village Patch.

Hope your day is a good one.
Cheers Shez xx

  35. My best friend and I used to browse around shops, taking all day just looking and making a purchase for something that could not be left behind. I miss her since she is gone. No other friend has ever been so special to me.
